Peer Helpers/Mediators
Peer Helpers Program
Capon Bridge Middle School is fortunate to be able to offer student assisted peer helping and mediation services. Four eighth grade and two seventh grade students are selected by their teachers to be the peer helpers/mediators each school year. Their function is to assist the guidance counselor, the school's administration, and faculty with day-to-day peer relationship issues.

In addition, they may provide tours of the school for newly enrolled students, assist the schools administration in keeping abreast of student opinions and problematic issues, and are role models for the other students in the school. The peer helpers/mediators receive training each year along with the counselor and students from other schools in the county and region.

Students are encouraged to seek out these students if they need assistance with conflict resolution or peer support. The peer helpers/mediators are supervised closely by the Guidance Office.

Requests for this service may be made to the counselor or any teacher or administrator at the school.
